Goal of project

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are software packages that enable standardisation and automation of core business operations. These business management systems that are commonly used to improve performance and efficiency of the enterprises. The purpose of this project was to survey the ERPs that are available in the market and identify and recommend the best suited commercially available Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for DelSiTech.

Results

The project was performed by following a systematic framework. A set of interviews were conducted with various members of DelSiTech staff to identify needs, culminating in a set of formal requirements for the ERP. Then, a market survey of local and international ERP providers was conducted, where using the constructed requirements 234 ERP providers identified in the market were filtered down to a shortlist of 12 options. Of these ERP systems, two were found to fulfil the formal selection criteria and to be potentially suitable.

Future recommendations

Hands on demonstration of the recommended ERP systems needs to be organised in order to test the user friendliness and full functionality of the systems.
